Andreas Boeckh was born in 1959 in Stendal, a region of the former German Democratic Republic.
After finishing school he served an apprenticeship as a skilled construction worker, and subsequently found employment in an art gallery in Halle a.d. Saale. From the mid 70’s onwards he devoted most of his working life to painting and drawing and in 1987 he was accepted into the ‘Verband Bildender Künstler’ of East Germany. His mentor was the painter Prof. Werner Liebmann.
Shortly after that he was fortunate enough to escape from the DDR and eventually arrived in Hamburg, after a stay in Budapest. Exhibitions of Andreas’ work have been held in Halle, Berlin, Dessau and Hamburg.
